Sovereign Practices
to try out, here and now
And their Matrix endorsed counterparts
The Matrix encourages perfect stillness to connect to get into a meditative ‘no mind’ state. However, you may be highly disoriented when leaving your body at exit time. Learning to access inner stillness in uncertain or confusing settings may be crucial.
1) Distracting meditation: Increase your level of waking awareness while gradually increasing distraction. From laying down and listening to a fan, to walking in a crowded area, to listening to the most compelling podcast you can find. Allow all phenomena to be sound and light vibration. Wonder what things are as if you never learned their names. Mastery is achieved when awareness yet non-attachment to all stimuli occurs.
The Matrix teaches you that comfort is the sign that you are evolved. Comfort is nice, but seeking comfort in a novel situation is the main trap at the time of exit. The program can love bomb or guilt trip you with all the vibrations they have at their disposal. So anchor in your knowing that you can handle discomfort.
2) Pain maxing: That feeling of dread you have when you regain your senses after sleeping? Go into it. All the way in. Let it wash over you, dare it to best you. Let it wrap around you and love it so much that it dissolves. Physically test your limits by holding true awareness for a few seconds using inward calm during an ice cold shower. Try sleeping on the floor for one night, or eating without distraction. Gently test the limits of your usual comfort zone and what feels helpful in decreasing resistance to what is occurring.
And the big one - interpersonal distress. That shame washing over you or pinging you all day? Go all in. Cry, rage, grieve, feel nauseous. Try to keep all thoughts at bay and vibrate with those sickening waves. Your awareness will start to come back online. You’ll notice a watcher. A presence noting all this drama unfold. Keep going until the watcher’s presence is primary. Soon you’ll notice your awareness moving outward. But then - the thoughts come in. New waves of emotion. Maybe anger this time. Everyone betrays you. But that’s because you’re weird, stupid, ugly, and worthless. Nothing ever works out for you. Allow this to cycle. [Yes, the Matrix is getting maximum loosh here for a bit]. Become aware of the code that is running inside your head and body. Where did you get those messages, and when did they become a program running in the background? Gently wonder if the people that have hurt you also carry similar code. Let the emotions release. And a peace will soon come. It might take an hour or so. But you survived it. You can survive anything. Yes, even the worst mind-body Matrix programming. Later, a deeper insight or perspective into the situation will arise into your consciousness. This practice eliminates the low-level anxiety that we carry around when we are fearful that the unconscious code is the real ‘us’, that going into our pain will expose our true self. Quite the opposite.
There are similar techniques for chronic or intense physical pain, but beyond my scope to assess. I know it involves curiosity and inquiry without labeling the sensations in the body.
The Matrix teaches you that heaven is the goal. A world of peace, masters in robes to guide you through all the questions you had. Gardens of glory. Streets of pure, clear gold, all laid out for you. The child you lost. Your favorite dog, your beloved Grandpa. Connection to God. No, this is the exact program they deploy to 95% of NDE experiencers. And guess what, 100% of them come back here. So do we, after our ‘real’ death. We’ve established that reincarnation is real. That heaven is a lie.
3) Sovereign Worlds: Use your imagination to envision a perfect place. The common sense, ‘every being has free-will’ realm. The Sovereign Spirits channel on YouTube has an inspiring video on this called “Imagining Afterlife Realms”, here is a link: https://youtu.be/rWHIj0EC96o?si=Ui1J8UkQeNo8jtxU
To summarize: What if there’s a place where you exist and create without survival stress, suffering, amnesia, authority figures, hierarchies, control or merging back into some unknown ‘oneness’? If consciousness is sovereign, it might choose realities centered around freedom, creativity, beauty, companionship, curiosity, play, true rest, exploration and voluntary experience. In sovereign realms, intention may be the force of creation.
There are so many beautiful things about this world, right here and now. Our spirit here has loved and lost and created a beautiful tapestry of experience. There’s an undercurrent of longing, though. A sense that peace and home are not really here. Create your own beautiful world and know that all that you have experienced here, and so much more, awaits you.
